Want Want China Holdings Limited Partners With Morinaga Milk Industry Co.,Ltd.
On 2nd November 2011, Want Want China Holdings Limited’s indirectly-owned subsidiary, Nanjing Big-Want Foods Ltd. (“Nanjing Big-Want”), and Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. (“Morinaga”) entered into a technology licence agreement at its Shanghai headquarter.
Morinaga, founded in 1917 in Japan, is a general food and beverage company engages in the manufacturing and selling of dairy-related products. Its main businesses include milk powder formula (infant, adult and functional); dairy-related products and raw materials (liquid milk, yoghurt, cheese, butter and etc) and wide range of cold-chain related foodstuffs. Morinaga poses strong expertise in the research and development and manufacturing capabilities of dairy-related products particularly in yoghurt and probiotic products; moreover it has engaged in the manufacturing of pudding for 30 years. Morinaga is most famous for its technology know-how and high-quality of products. In 2010, Morinaga’s annual turnover is ￥583bn and is ranked one of the top 20 dairy companies in the world.
Chairman of Want Want China Holdings Limited., Mr. Tsai Eng-Meng, and Chairman of Morinaga, Mr. Akira Onho, attended the signing ceremony. The technology licence agreement includes yoghurt and other relevant chilled products. Want Want China Holdings Limited., hopes that through such cooperation, it will be able to make use of Morinaga’s wealth of experience and advanced technologies to enter into China’s chilled products market.
